DIY day 22 November 2025: cold weather, education and (re)planting

The first real frost left the park frosted white, followed by a watery winter sun.

Despite the cold start, we had a large turnout of over 20 DIY enthusiasts.

Marc Franck of CNME was our special guest. He first provided an educational introduction about insights and developments in natural park management.
He then took us through the food forest, where he offered tips and gave us the opportunity to ask questions.

It was time to roll up our sleeves after this tour: the grandstand was cleared of plants and several trees were topped.
Groups started (re)planting rowan berries and various new and replacement plants in the food forest.
Spontaneous seedlings were moved to better locations in various places, or removed (the invasive exotic species).

We all enjoyed a delicious and extensive lunch in between.

Afterward, we finished the planting, and signs were returned to various plants, trees, and shrubs.
Finally, we opened and emptied full and smothered compost bins to improve the composting process.

All in all, it was a useful, productive, and enjoyable day. Thanks to all the volunteers!
