About the foundation
The Groene Poort Oost is a foundation that exists thanks to volunteers who love Maastricht. Our board members and volunteers have their own input and interests. We try to assign the various tasks to small groups that carry out their tasks as independently as possible. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you want to maintain the food forest or come up with an occasional activity. You are welcome, regardless of your cultural background, gender, sexual orientation, age, neurodivergence or physical disability. Because we create our neighbourhood park together. To help facilitate more contact between Heer and Scharn residents we want to host different types of activities in the park.
Our income comes from subsidies and donations from government organisations, companies, institutions and funds. Next to that we receive gifts and legacies from private individuals. Thanks to our volunteers we can save a lot of costs.
